Top Features and Cost of the 2022 Honda Civic
The Japanese automaker Honda is known for producing world-class vehicles, and their Civic series of cars is no less. Honda Civic has been the best-selling retail passenger car in the country for six consecutive years and the newest 11th-generation 2022 Honda Civic was recently named the 2022 North American Car of the Year.
Performance
The base model of the new Honda Civic is fitted with a 2-liter DOHC i-VTEC® engine that produces 158 horsepower and provides good acceleration with smart fuel-saving technology that shuts off the engine when the vehicle is idle. Higher trim variants are powered by a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 180 horsepower. The Civic sedan uses a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and is available only with a front-wheel drive system. Honda has installed paddle shifters on the Civic’s steering wheel so you can effortlessly change gears without taking your hands off the wheel. Also, the sedan allows you to quickly switch between its three drive modes—including the highly-responsive Sport mode—at the push of a button.
Exterior and interior
Perhaps the most apparent difference between the previous generation Honda Civic and the 2022 model is in their exterior. The new Honda Civic is sleeker, and has a lower, wider frame, and expanded glass areas that give it a stunning appearance from the outside. The LED headlights with a new dual low-beam design are standard across all variants of the 2022 Honda Civic. The vehicle comes in eight different colors – Crystal Black Pearl, Lunar Silver Metallic, Meteorite Gray Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, Sonic Gray Pearl, Morning Mist Metallic, Rallye Red, and Aegean Blue Metallic. When it comes to the interior, the new Civic is more spacious and has comfortable space for five people. The driver’s seat has an 8-way power, so you can easily find a comfortable position for driving for both short and long distances. There’s also a moonroof, which opens, closes, or tilts with a single touch.
Technology
The 7-inch touchscreen infotainment display is standard on the 2022 Honda Civic. To make your experience even more fun, the automaker has fitted the vehicle with a 12-speaker Bose Premium Sound System with Centerpoint® surround-sound technology, which means all passengers inside the sedan can hear every note clearly. The car offers Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integrations with an available wireless integration. The vehicle uses offline maps via the Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System™, which means you won’t have trouble finding your way even in areas without a cell phone signal. The new Honda Civic also has a blind spot information system that can detect and alert you about the presence of other vehicles on the side of your vehicle.
Safety
The 2022 Honda Civic has earned “Good” safety ratings and “5/5 stars” from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), respectively, in several tested categories. The new Honda Civic comes with a host of safety and driver-assistance features, thanks to Honda Sensing®, which is standard on all 2022 Civic trims. Honda Sensing® is designed to protect you and your passengers as well as to make driving easier and safer with a slew of important features that help prevent collision with a vehicle or pedestrian in front of you, help you return to your lane or keep you from leaving your lane, and adapts to the speed of vehicles detected ahead, including slowing to stop, so you drive hassle-free and confidently.
Cost
The 2022 Honda Civic has four trim variants: LX, Sport, EX, and Touring. The Civic LX is the base model and the Touring is the top-end model. The approximate prices of these variants are as follows:
