Signs of ADHD in adults
There are several disorders brain-related that can interfere with the growth and development of a child. One such brain disorder is attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), which is discernible by a continuing pattern of inattention. ADHD inattentive adults frequently get unnoticed and forgotten. With adults, the two basic behaviors involved in ADHD are inattentive nature and impulsivity.
Let us discuss various symptoms of ADHD inattentive adults in detail:
Careless mistakes
An adult dealing with ADHD might make blunders at their workplace as the inattentiveness becomes more prominent. The person sometimes may not read important documents or emails carefully, due to which problem occurs in the working place. Such careless mistake leads to embarrassment and unnecessary attention from the other staff members and seniors. If the person is feeling any kind of pain and facing physical discomfort while paying attention at work, then probably the person is suffering from ADHD.
Impulsivity
Adults who are impulsive face trouble in holding up their behaviors as well as responses. Before thinking about the situation and solution, they react and speak without worrying about the consequences of their instant reaction. They always interrupt others while talking with them. Adult students might have faced this issue many times, just like a student would rush through the assignments without carefully reading out or listening to the instructions provided to them.
Poor listening skills
Adults with ADHD have very poor listening skills as their impulsive and inattentive nature does not allow them to listen to the person completely. Their interfering habit makes people irritated while talking. They do not allow people to complete their sentence and perhaps could cut down their words and speak out of order. This is a major symptom that helps to judge whether one is suffering from ADHD. Also, such people do not remember the names of people and they ran away from the ongoing conversations various times.
Disorganization
Adults with ADHD tend to lose their mobile phone, keys of their car or house. They can be disorganized as they often think about something which is not important while doing the important work. Their place of living, working place and their car is disorganized which can lead them to embarrassment in front of other people.
Such signs of ADHD in adults are quite concerning. Those who show such signs usually will not realize that they suffer from ADHD. Such situations need to be dealt with delicately as the person suffering from these signs may not respond well if not addressed in the right manner.
