Notable Features of the New Nissan Versa

In addition to being a suitable mode of transportation, the 2022 new Nissan Versa sedan makes driving more fun than many other subcompact vehicles. The Versa is not only attractive, but it also has a price that practically everyone can afford. Its highway fuel economy is impressive, and the vehicle is comfortable for daily commutes because of its smooth ride and plush front seats.

Notable Features of the New Nissan Versa
Moreover, it offers more driver assistance features than its competitors.

The new Nissan Versa features

Safety

The new Nissan Versa includes many driver-assistance features as standard equipment, such as automatic high beams and lane-departure warnings. Essential safety elements include:

Standard automatic emergency braking front and back

Available rear cross-traffic warning and blind-spot monitoring

Adaptive cruise control is accessible

Fuel efficiency

When using the CVT, the new Nissan Versa can achieve up to 32 mpg in the city and 40 mpg on the highway. With an estimated 27-mpg-city and 35-mpg-highway, the base Versa with the manual offers noticeably poorer numbers.

Interior and comfort

The interior of the new Nissan Versa no longer has the appearance or atmosphere of a kids’ play area. On the doors and dashboard, there are soft-touch materials used throughout. Nissan doesn’t provide power-adjustable seats or leather interiors in this region. However, the most expensive model does come with heated front seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter.

While the top-tier Versa SR model offers automatic climate control, passive hands-free entry, remote start, and other desirable standard equipment, the mid-level SV model unlocked several desirable standard amenities, such as a driver’s seat-mounted armrest and a digital screen in the gauge cluster. The sedan can accommodate six carry-on baggage in the trunk, and a total of 17 with the back seat folded. It also includes generous storage on the center console.

Performance, transmission, and the engine

A 122-hp four-cylinder engine propels the front wheels of the Versa. Base models only come with a 5-speed manual transmission, but the S also offers a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). The latter is standard on the more expensive SV and SR trim levels. While the Versa feels sluggish when accelerating from stop lights and when passing on the highway, its CVT reduces noise by simulating actual gear changes.

Infotainment

The new Nissan Versa has a limited number of basic amenities. The infotainment system is straightforward to use, though. The driver can easily access physical buttons and knobs that control the climate and audio settings.

Four speakers, Bluetooth, USB connectors, 7-inch touch screens, and Siri Eyes Free are all standard infotainment amenities. The infotainment system also features a six-speaker audio, satellite radio, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay. Keyless entry is an added function that is standard. Some other features offered include Push-button start and automated climate control.

Prices

The Versa SR is the top-of-the-line model to purchase. Although it costs $20,085, we believe it is the most expensive version because of the alluring standard equipment it offers. The SR and the slightly less costly SV are priced at $19,485. But only the SR comes with 17-inch wheels, a steering wheel covered in leather, LED headlights, passive entry, and a remote start. We recommend the Convenience package for its adaptive cruise control and heated front seats.

Coverage for warranties and maintenance

Although Hyundai and Kia offer more extended coverage than Nissan, their limited powertrain warranties equal most of their competitors. Additionally, the Versa does not include free maintenance.

Cost of insurance

The deductible, the amount of coverage you want, and the kind of insurance you select will affect the cost of insuring a Nissan Versa.

The Versa is a reliable sedan that performs well in several important areas for car purchasers. It features competent handling and a capable, albeit uninspired, engine. The Versa has a lovely interior with cozy seats and also user-friendly technology. By the standards of the class, the trunk is also spacious. It is the best subcompact car in its class for the money because of its exceptional quality and value combination.
