The Jeep Patriot is a four-seater compact crossover SUV that was introduced in 2007. Its model is based on the DaimlerChrysler/Mitsubishi GS platform. Jeep marketed the Patriot as an affordable off-roader SUV. It is available in the following trim levels: Sport, with sub-trims Sports SE and 75 th Anniversary Edition, and Latitude, with High Altitude Edition sub-trim level. Engine and transmission
The Patriot is equipped with a 2.0 liter, 4-cylinder engine producing 158 horsepower at 6,400 rpm and a torque of 141 pound-feet at 5,000 rpm. Buyers can also opt for a 2.4 liter, 4-cylinder engine producing 172 horsepower and a torque of 165 pound-feet. They can also choose from a five-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission. The Jeep Patriot has a fully independent touring-tuned suspension. The front-wheel-drive is standard in all models, and the all-wheel-drive system is optional.
Freedom Drive II Package
Jeep offered an optional Freedom Drive II Package, ideal for those interested in adventure or all-terrain travel. It is an active four-wheel-drive system with lock mode. As the Jeep Patriot was designed as an off-roader, the Freedom Drive II package gave the driver an edge to confidently handle various terrains and weather conditions. Jeep has made many changes to the Patriot design over the years. It has maintained a sophisticated style for its higher-end models with features like a power sunroof and automatic headlamps.
