Key Features to Know Before Buying the Kia Cadenza
The Cadenza is a testament to Kia’s successful transition to products geared toward luxury. Accordingly, the Kia Cadenza sedan has many appealing features, including a 12.3-inch infotainment screen and effective driver-assistance features. In addition to the flawless safety rating, you also get plenty of cargo space and a luxurious and comfortable cabin.
About the brand
The South Korean automaker Kia Corporation, known as Kia, is based in Seoul. With more than 2.8 million vehicles sold in 2019, it became the second-largest automaker in South Korea after its parent company, Hyundai Motor Company. As of 2015, Hyundai has a 33.88% stake in the Kia Corporation, valued at a little over $6 billion.
Engine and performance
The Cadenza’s V-6 engine is sophisticated and capable. Its Smart driving mode makes the most of the powertrain’s potential, even though the transmission could be more refined. The 290 horsepower V-6 engine in the sedan offers a smooth performance. The engine also makes it easy to maneuver the car around town without inconveniencing the passengers, but it requires a heavier foot for more immediate zip at stoplights. Nevertheless, the steering is soft to the touch, and the suspension does a commendable job of absorbing bumps and managing to control body motions. While comfort is prioritized over sportiness in the Kia Cadenza, the car is a capable performer.
Interiors
The stylish, expertly constructed interior of the Kia Cadenza offers all the amenities you expect from cars in the segment. An exquisite, sophisticated cabin reflects premium, luxury-car design. The leather-trimmed seats have lovely quilted panels and are extremely supportive. The car’s trunk, with 16 cubic feet of storage, can accommodate six carry-on bags. The rear seat only has a center pass-through for additional storage as Kia fastened the seatbacks to increase structural stiffness.
Technology
The car’s large touchscreen comes with simple menus and excellent graphics. Some settings also have physical controls. A 12.3-inch touch screen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, navigation, an eight-speaker stereo, satellite radio, HD Radio, wireless device charging, Bluetooth, and four USB ports are standard infotainment system features. Some of the optional features in the Kia Cadenza are a 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, proximity keyless entry, remote start, panoramic sunroof, and dual-zone automatic climate control.
Safety
The car has safety features like automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-keeping assistance, and adaptive cruise control that uses the vehicle’s standard navigation system to anticipate curves in the road. The Kia Cadenza received the highest rating of “Good” from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety in all six crash tests. While testing the car’s collision avoidance systems, IIHS awarded the sedan the top grade of “Superior” in vehicle-to-vehicle front crash prevention system. Additionally, the optional vehicle-to-pedestrian system was awarded the average rating of “Advanced”.
