Other indicators are a red bump with a pus spot in the center, excessive tears, feeling of some foreign particle in the eye, crusting along the eyelids, sensitivity to bright light, itchiness around the eye, and more.

    Take a teaspoon of coriander seeds and boil them in a cup of water. Use this solution to wash the eye 3 to 4 times a day. Make sure that the solution is not too hot, as it may hurt the eye.
  • Acacia leaves prove to be an excellent remedy to treat the stye. Take a handful of acacia leaves and boil them in 2 cups of water. Strain the liquid, soak a washcloth in the liquid and apply it over the stye.
    If there is swelling and puffiness in the eye affected by stye, add a tablespoon of crushed nasturtium seed with a tablespoon of grated potato and use this concoction as a compress over the eye. A poultice prepared from grated potato helps to soothe the eyes and provide relief.
  • Guava leaves help reduce the pain, swelling, and redness associated with the stye. Take some warm guava leaves and place them on a moist and warm face towel. This can also be used as a compress.
  • Turmeric is a well-known antiseptic. A solution of turmeric and water can help control the infection and heal the stye faster. To prepare this solution, which can be used as eyedrops, boil a teaspoon of turmeric in two cups of water. Allow it to boil till the quantity reduces to half.
  • Boil parsley leaves in a cup of water for 10 minutes. Strain the liquid. Soak a washcloth into the warm liquid and apply around the eyelids. It helps to get relief from eye discomfort.
  • Homeopathy constituents like Pulsatilla, Silicea terra and Staphysagria help to dissolve and prevent recurrent styes.
