Beating IBS during pregnancy

Increase your fluid intake: Drinking lots of fluid is one of the best known IBS treatments for pregnant women. Physicians recommend consuming 8-10 glasses of water per day. You may try prune juice as it is beneficial in relieving constipation. Or, you may sip slightly warm liquids early morning.

Do light exercises: Practicing pregnancy-friendly exercises will let you stay active and help you feel emotionally and physically stronger is important. Try walking regularly or any heart-pumping activities for half an hour. But, before trying this particular IBS treatment, consult your physician.

Eat more fruits: Another helpful irritable bowel syndrome treatment is adding more fibre in the daily diet. Various foods including vegetables, whole grains, and fruits assist in easing constipation. Fiber brings water into your intestine, softens stool and lets it pass easily. It is better to avoid gassy foods such as broccoli, beans, cauliflower, etc. as they might increase your problems.

Communicate better: Another form of IBS treatment is talk therapy. Stress affects IBS symptoms, and thus you need to be aware of all your emotions. Such a therapy will help to change negative thoughts to positive ones. Biofeedback, will let you lower your heart rate, decrease muscle tension and also assist in treating irritable bowel syndrome abdominal pain.

Maintain a food diary: Maintaining a weekly food log will let you keep track when IBS erupts. It is a part of IBS treatment as by doing so you will be able to strike off those items from your diet that worsens your IBS symptoms.
