An Overview of the INFINITI Q60
The INFINITI Q60 comes with a lot of elegance, power, and features. It is a fun-to-drive car that gives out a modern vibe. When you set your eyes on it, you will instantly be drawn by its arching lines that stretch from front to back. The interiors are equally beautiful, with quality upholstery and premium design.
Exterior
The appearance of the INFINITI Q60 is similar to a typical sports coupe with a tall hood, a sloping roof, and a short tail. The Q60’s front end has a wide grille flanked by sleek and sharp LED headlamps. A chrome accent extending throughout the grille’s perimeter gives it a premium appearance. Its sides look equally elegant, thanks to the mix of enormous 19-inch alloy wheels and a tapered roof. The twin exhaust configuration is complemented by identical narrow taillights and a small trunk cover with an integrated cover at the back.
Overall, the car does everything right to highlight its aggressive and athletic appearance. Its proportions remain unchanged. The vehicle’s wheelbase measures 112.2 inches, and it has a curb weight of 3,747 lbs, a length of 184.4, and a width of 72.8 inches. It is 54.5 inches high and has a ground clearance of 4.9 inches.
Interior
The car retains the dual-screen infotainment layout like its previous model. This system is simple to use (one screen at a time) and provides rapid reactions to touch inputs and a basic user interface. The main screen is a high-resolution seven-inch device, while the lower display is an eight-inch. It features wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and an optional 13-speaker Bose Performance Series audio system on higher grades.
The INFINITI Q60 can easily accommodate four people. The front-row seating is exceptionally comfortable, with a head/shoulder/leg space of 37.5/54.0/42.4 inches. The rear row’s head/shoulder/leg space is 37.4/54.0/39.3 inches. You get a cargo capacity of 8.7 cu-ft.
Engine
The Q60 is powered by a 3.0L twin-turbocharged engine that produces 300 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. The RWD system is standard on the vehicle, and the AWD option is available for an additional $2,000. The advanced Red Sport 400 trim has the same engine but produces an extra 100 horsepower and 155 lb-ft more torque. The engine is connected with a seven-speed automatic gearbox with manual shifting capability. Its power delivery is linear, with controllable acceleration and average grunt.
Performance
The Q60 provides excellent speed, handling, performance, and steering. Its steering is quick, and the tires provide good road and weather feedback. This contributes to the 0 to 60 MPH time of 5.5 seconds, the quarter-mile pace of 13.3 seconds, and the peak speed of 121 MPH.
Safety
Thanks to advanced technology, the INFINITI Q60 is a relatively safe coupe. Its extensive list of safety features makes it a highly safe vehicle for its occupants. Some benefits include blind-spot warning, forward-collision warning and mitigation with pedestrian detection, emergency braking, lane-departure warning and mitigation, traction control, and rear-collision mitigation. Note that some of these features are optional, while others are standard on all trims.
The destiny of the INFINITI Q60 coupe remains uncertain since the automaker has decided to continue production only until the end of this year. So, the car might not be available once sold out. At the moment, though, it is one of the market’s best-known, attractive, inexpensive, and easy-to-live-with coupes. So, if you are seeking an aesthetically beautiful, comfortable, practical, and reasonably powerful four-seater sports coupe on a budget, the INFINITI Q60 may still be the one for you.
