There is no cure to this condition, and the symptoms will only stop after delivery. Doctors might advise bed rest to give adequate time for the baby to develop.

Placenta previa is referred to as the condition wherein the opening of the cervix is covered by the placenta. There may be no symptoms at all, or some bleeding might be noticed. If this condition is observed after the completion of 20 weeks of pregnancy, the doctor is most likely to advise a reduction in activity levels.

Placental abruption is the condition in which the placenta disconnects from the uterine wall. Some of the symptoms of this condition include bleeding, tenderness, and cramping. Under mild circumstances bed rest is adequate. But in case of serious complications, early delivery of the baby may be needed.

Causes of pregnancy complications

There are multiple causes of complications during pregnancy. These can be some pre-existing conditions as well as some infections that can occur during the pregnancy. Apart from this, complications may sometimes arise even in healthy women. Various problems like anemia, depression, fetal problems, gestational, and diabetes might lead to complications in pregnancy. Some of the pre-existing conditions that might lead to pregnancy complications include migraine, obesity, and thyroid disease. One must make sure that the expecting mother is at ease physical as well as mentally during pregnancy in order to ensure that there are no impending complications.

Risk factors associated with pregnancy complications

One must always have a discussion with a doctor before pregnancy and ensure that the doctor understands all existing chronic conditions as well as allergies that might lead to complications in the pregnancy. Some of the common diseases that put a person at a higher risk of complications include diabetes, cancer, infections, kidney problems, high blood pressure, anemia, and epilepsy. Some other factors, other than diseases, that impact the occurrence of complications include being pregnant above the age of 35 years, smoking, consumptions of alcohol, having a history of miscarriage, and carrying multiples.
