A Brief Overview of the All-new Subaru Legacy
This new Subaru Legacy comes packed with cutting-edge technology, including a full array of professional driving aids. In addition to being named IIHS’s Top Safety Pick for ten years running, its reliable AWD helps you handle roads in every weather. Moreover, the Subaru Legacy checks all the boxes for a pocket-friendly top-tier midsize car.
The all-new Subaru Legacy at a glance
The new Subaru Legacy does not have too many changes from prior models. Aside from additional standard features, including alloy wheels, the exterior of the car remains mostly the same. The interiors offer a refined, luxurious, innovative cabin with feature-based changes to boot. It has top-notch materials used and the option of Nappa leather upholstery and ventilated front seats. A standard EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology package has dual color cameras placed unobtrusively, which scan the road for any possible source of danger. The IIHS has given the all-new Subaru models the highest possible rating for front crash prevention technology.
Additionally, the Subaru Starlink 7.0 Multimedia System lets you integrate your mobile phones with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. This is available only in the Base trim, with the middle three trims having the Subaru Starlink 11.6-inch Multimedia Plus System. Only the Touring XT has a CD player, and the Harman Kardon system is available in certain trims only.
Engine, exterior, and performance
There are six Legacy trims available: the Subaru Legacy Base, Premium, Sport, Limited, Limited XT, and Touring XT. Aside from the Limited XT and Touring XT trims, the rest have 2.4L SUBARU BOXER 4-cylinder. The highest trims come with a 2.5L turbocharged SUBARU BOXER 4-cylinder. Surprisingly, this high-performance engine requires no concessions in terms of efficiency; in the trims mentioned above, it provides an EPA-estimated 24/32 MPG (city/highway). Note that these are for the four more economical trims. The highest two give a city mileage of 32 mpg and a highway mileage of 24mpg. Naturally, all models will retain basic Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, LED steering responsive headlights, and automatic transmission. The two base trims lack the 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, but those are available with the more expensive variants.
Pricing
The base variant of the Subaru Legacy is priced at $23,495. It comes with active torque vectoring, a rear vision camera, and safety features like the all-new Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control with Lane Centering. The next variant, the Legacy Premium, is priced starting at $25,745. It has a horsepower of 182, which is standard in four out of six trims. The third trim, the Sport, offers an SI-DRIVE engine management system and an optional trunk spoiler for the starting price tag of $29,290. The Limited trim is priced starting at $30,445, the Limited XT comes at $34,995, and the Touring XT is priced starting at $36,695.

The new Subaru Legacy has many of the same characteristics as the previous Subaru Legacy model but several improvements too. The center console, trunk underfloor storage tray, sun visors with illuminated vanity mirrors, overhead console, dual rear USB charging ports (Absent in Base), and dual front USB input ports are standard in all trims. Additionally, all trims have front legroom of 42.8 inches and a rear legroom of 39.5 inches. The more expensive trims have power adjustable front seats, heated front seats in the All Weather Package, and the most expensive trim also has ventilated front seats.
