Relieve from back pain: Back pain is usually caused due to excessive pressure on the spine and back bone. This condition is aggravated by sleeping on regular beds and mattresses. With an adjustable bed, you can elevate your sleeping position to 45 degrees. You can also raise the foot of the bed so that your legs and knee joints are slightly elevated to your body. This will relieve pressure from your spine and give relief from back pain.

Alleviate acid reflux: Acid reflux is caused due to the flow of acid from the stomach to the esophagus. Many people suffer from night time acid reflux. By raising your upper body by six to eight inches, you help your body to retain acid in the stomach.

Snoring and sleep apnea: Sleep apnea is caused due to obstruction on breathing during sleep. A side-effect of sleep apnea is snoring. When you sleep on a flat surface, your body might have trouble breathing due to constrictions along the air ways. This happens due to the weight of the neck closing over the windpipe. This blocks the air passage causing snoring. Elevating your upper body will help you to breath properly. This will not get rid of sleep apnea and snoring, but alleviate them to a certain extent.

Edema pain and swelling of muscles: Edema pain is caused due to retention of fluid in the legs and feet. This causes swelling of the muscles and excessive pain. With an adjustable bed, you can sleep with your legs and feet slightly raised from the rest of your body. This prevents fluid build-up and helps to avoid swelling and pain. Sleeping with your feet raised slightly will also help in preventing varicose veins, which affect the legs.

Arthritis: If you have arthritis, you must have experienced stiffness and soreness of joints when you get up from your bed in the morning. This caused due to compression of joints. Over the night, pressure builds up between the joints leading to soreness in the morning. Sleeping on an adjustable bed will provide better support to your body and alleviate stiffness of joints.
